Richardson K. Dilworth (August 29, 1898 – January 23, 1974)〔()〕 was an American Democratic Party politician who served as the 117th Mayor of Philadelphia from 1956 to 1962. He twice ran as the Democratic nominee for Governor of Pennsylvania, in 1950 and in 1962. ==Education and early career== He was born in Pittsburgh to Joseph Richardson Dilworth and Annie Hunter (Wood) Dilworth. In 1921 he graduated from Yale University, where he was a member of Scroll and Key and Delta Kappa Epsilon. He served in the Marine Corps in World Wars I and II.
